Through a future partnership with Linea, the Status Network is driving important decentralization trends in Ethereum.
Status Joins Forces with Linea Network to Advance Ethereum Decentralization
Status, a digital platform dedicated to fostering inclusive communities, has announced a new collaboration with the Linea network. Linea, a Layer 2 (L2) solution built on the Ethereum blockchain, has welcomed Status as its first open-source code contributor.

This partnership marks a significant step in Linea’s long-term plan to decentralize its network, aiming to build a more transparent, secure, and collaborative ecosystem. Nicolas Liochon, the head of Linea, described the collaboration as “a natural fit,” given Status’s substantial contributions to Ethereum’s core development.
what are the most promising paths to cross-L2 interoperability?

– does every protocol add "pay with any token on any chain" features to their frontend (e.g. using @RelayProtocol)?
– does the frontend even show the chain you're on, or is that all abstracted away?

The Status team is expected to play a key role in the ongoing development of Linea, reinforcing their shared vision of advancing decentralization on the Ethereum blockchain. Cyprien Grau, a core team member at Status, emphasized this mutual goal.

At the heart of Linea’s approach to scaling Ethereum is zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) technology. This innovative solution addresses Ethereum’s challenges of high fees and low transaction throughput through L2 rollup technology.
In a previous post on X, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed his surprise at how rapidly issues with cross-chain interoperability between Layer 2 solutions on Ethereum were being resolved.
